Charlotte Bronte at the Morgan Library & Museum @ Morgan Library & Museum | New York | New York | United States
The Morgan Library & Museum in New York is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Bronte’s birth with Charlotte Bronte: An Independent Will.  The exhibit, which runs from September 9, 2016 to January 2, 2017, draws on the Morgan’s extensive collection of Bronte manuscripts and letters to tell the story of her journey from young girl to successful author.
The exhibit also features items on loan from the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth, England, two portraits on loan from the National Portrait Gallery in London, and the original manuscript for Jane Eyre, which is on loan from the British Museum.  The New York Times article She Was No Bird: ‘Jane Eyre’ Manuscript on First Trip to America provides a great overview of the exhibit, along with photos of some of the exhibit’s many Bronte artifacts.
Anglophiles who can’t make it to New York can still immerse themselves in Bronte’s world through the Library’s online exhibit, Charlotte Bronte: Ten Letters and a Fictional Fantasy.
