Here’s a Chicago Shakespeare sighting for Anglophiles in America!  Anglophiles who will be in the Chicago area this fall will want to visit Creating Shakespeare at Chicago’s Newberry Library.  The free exhibit, which runs from September 23 – December 31, 2016, explores the ways in which William Shakespeare’s works have been interpreted and re-created by writers, actors, filmmakers, and other artists over the past 400 years.  The Library is also sponsoring a number of related special events (many of them free), includingShakesBEER and Improv Night on October 4, Shakespeare Alive!, a workshop for high school students on October 22, and Indigenous Shakespeare: Re-Interpreting the Bard from Native Perspectives on November 3.  Check the Newberry’s Programs and Events page for more details.  Creating Shakespeare is part of Shakespeare 400 Chicago, a year-long series of exhibits, performances and activities commemorating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.
